I stayed at Saleda Lodge in October 2019 for a week and couldn’t have been more impressed! From the staff to the food it was a five-star experience. Accommodation: The rooms were incredible, and every little amenity had been thought out. I loved the view over the river that we had and waking up to hippos bathing every morning! The inside and outdoor showers were such a luxury and the room itself was spacious, clean and felt like a 5 star hotel.

The lodge also boasts a jacuzzi, a games room, a pool with a bar and most importantly a gorgeous veranda to sit back and listen to the wildlife across the river! Staff: The staff at Saleda treated us like their family and they could not have been more welcoming. We had a welcome song on arrival, and they went out of their way to ensure that every little home comfort was available. The cleaning was to such a high standard and they even had our washing done and folded at the end of each day!! Complete luxury 😊

The running of the Lodge is smooth and seamless with every member of staff being friendly and chatty. I genuinely felt sad to leave them at the end of the trip.
Food: OUT OF THIS WORLD! The food was innovative and varied every day and tasted amazing. I loved waking up to the smell of baking and knowing that we would be treated to another amazing brunch or afternoon tea after our game drive. We had a bush dinner and a bush breakfast. Both were incredible experiences that I will never forget. The bush dinner was amazing and the food was like being at a luxury restaurant! I loved that we got to taste some of the local cuisine as well. This was one of the highlights of my trip!

Game drives: We went on 2 game drives a day with Banda. His knowledge of the animals and his tracking was incredible! I couldn’t believe how accurate he was in terms of knowing where the animals would be. Seeing the Pride of Lions at sunset at a watering hole, all based on Banda’s knowledge of the area is a memory I will never forget! He was so happy that he had given us the opportunity to experience and share the magic of the African Bush. I left each game drive in pure awe of what I had seen and how Banda and the other game drivers thoroughly enjoy their work! Massages at Saleda: I had a massage whilst at Saleda and was in pure heaven for 2 hours! Again, another level of luxury which just adds to the overall experience. In summary, my trip to Saleda Lodge was a once in a lifetime experience which I will never forget!
